Welcome to Cape Town!

ABOUT US

Our mission is to make Cape Town walkable for everyone – it’s as simple as that.

That is why our tours are educative while fun and light and run on tips alone. We like to call it “infotainment”. We think everyone regardless of their budget should experience #freetourscapetown.

With more than 120 000 guests, we are one of the top things to do in the Mother City, and definitely one of the top ten free things to do in Cape Town.

While visiting Cape Town, whether you are looking for historical walking tours, want to have a fun walk of the Cape Town city centre or just want an opportunity to meet nice people, you should take our tour to visit the Cape Town CBD. As and added perk to our tours, our seasoned guides will share other nearby attractions, suggest activities which might be of interest to you, share personal favourite spots worth a visit and recommend great places to eat, shop and explore.

Our Guides

Wilmarie
Wilmarie
Walking Tour Guide

Wilmarie is from the Overberg to the east of Cape Town, beyond the Hottentots Holland Mountains. As a local she has a broad knowledge and understanding of the cultures and traditions of the Western Cape, which she loves sharing with visitors.

Anne
Anne
Walking Tour Guide

Anne calls herself a “Banana” – yellow on the outside and white on the inside. When she’s not guiding guests through the streets of Cape Town and sharing the Mother City’s gems, she cooks up a storm. And no, she doesn’t share her recipe secrets.

Manni
Manni
Walking Tour Guide

A true Capetonian surf dude – Manni practically knows everyone in town, who he greets left, right and centre when guiding tours. When not doing city excursions, he holds a passion for shining up old cars and growing his own vegetables.

Glenn
Glenn
Walking Tour Guide

Due to making and shaping boomerangs and playing the didgeridoo in his spare time, Glenn is easily mistaken for Bruce from Down Under, but he’s lived in Cape Town all his life, and knows his stuff when telling you about the Mother City.

Matthew
Matthew
Walking Tour Guide

Matthew has spent two years travelling through Southern Africa on overland tours. His passion for history and stories led him to become a tour guide in Cape Town, and in his spare time, he as a keen interest for birds – the feathered kind.

Gervais
Gervais
Walking Tour Guide

When not guiding guests around Cape Town, this native from the Eastern Cape is an endurance athlete. He tackles every event that requires grit and stamina: The Two Oceans Ultra Marathon, the Cape Town Cycle Tour or The Ironman challenge.

Lizzie
Lizzie
Walking Tour Guide

Lizzie grew up in a village so small, no one will recognise its name. She compensates for that with knowledge of a much more famous spot – Cape Town. She is a qualified botanist and lead singer in a band called The Fishwives.

Ken
Ken
Walking Tour Guide

This sea and surf loving “historian” lives on the West Coast, but because he loves Cape Town and its stories and treasures so much, he exists to work in the city to share the history of South Africa, its people and the Mother City with visitors.
